Fraser Point Bald Eagle Nest, Santa pistons vs cavaliers Cruz Island, California.

Cruz and Andors three fledglings Sasha, Zuma, and Ryder were away from the nest when an unexpected young bald eagle arrived.

This beautiful visitor appears to be an immature bald eagle, likely around 2 to 2 years old, with mottled plumage that shows it has not yet reached adult coloring.

The eagle was not banded, so there is no way to know who it is or which nest it came from. On the Channel Islands, young bald eagles seen visiting nests are often birds that hatched somewhere on the islands and return during their wandering years.

Bald eagles take around five years to reach definitive adult plumage, with the classic white head, white tail, yellow beak, pale eyes, and dark body.
