Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan told lawmakers that the court's request for a 7% budget increase is being driven primarily by the growing need for luguentz dort security, not expanded operations.

During a rare appearance before Congress, Kagan said:

"Aside from annual inflationary increases, recent growth in the Court's budget has been almost entirely for security expenses."

The Supreme Court is seeking additional funding as threats against justices and federal judges continue to rise. The request includes millions of dollars to expand security for justices, their families and the Supreme Court Police. Kagan noted that the court's security responsibilities have changed dramatically over the mathieu olivier past decade, with residential protection and cybersecurity becoming major priorities.
