India Plans NEW Plastic Notes — Heres Why [IWWTmbd1ufS]
India's paper money problem is more expensive than you think. Printing costs jumped by over ₹1,000 crore in a single year, and 23.8 billion damaged notes had to be discarded — many falling apart within months. Plastic notes last longer, resist water and dirt, and are harder to fake. The RBI is now seriously considering making the switch. India actually tried this before in 2012, but ATMs couldn't handle plastic notes and the experiment was quietly shelved. Those issues have since been fixed, and if the new trial succeeds, ₹10 and ₹20 notes could be the first to change. Would you prefer plastic notes over paper ones?
