Lithology:- °°°°°°°°°°°°°° - The succession of Cuddapah group is composed of mainly Quartzite, slate and shale. - Only subordinate amount of limestone present in Vampalli. - The total thickness of the succession is about 6K.m - The Cuddapah rocks are mostly unfossiliferous. - Stromatolite was found from Vapalli. - Archean schist and gneiss basement. Stratigraphy:- °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° - The succession of Cuddapah supergroup have been divided into 4 group. - The group are separated by one another by unconformity. - Each group begins with the coarse sediments as it's base followed by the fine grained sedimentay rocks and carbonate rocks. Papaghani Group:- °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° - The rocks of this group are exposed in the Papaghni river valley. - It is further divided into 2 formation. - The lower formation is named as Gulcheru quartzite , divided from Archean basement. - The upper formation known as Vampalli shale and limestone. Cheyair group:- °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° - The rocks of this group occur in the Cheyair river.and in the upstream areas of Penner river around todapatri. - It is further divided into two formation. - The lower formation is known as pulvendla Quartzite. - The upper formation is known as todapatri shale. Nallamalai:- °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° - The rocks of this group exposed inyje Nallamalai hills. - The whole successions have been folded. - Cumbum shale occupy synclinal trough of folded rock - Lead and cuppor found to minerallized in this group. Kistna:- °°°°°°°°° - Exposed along the kistna river. - Economic minerals:- Talc, cuppor, asbestose, baryte, stealite. #cuddapahsupergroup #stratigraphy #cuddapahsupergroup_in_hindi #Proterozoic_basin #Purana_basin #kistna_river #papaghani_river #cheyair_river #Nallamalai_hill #vempalli_formation #descriptionofcuddapahsupergroup #cuddapah_basin #cuddapah_supergroup_succession #Cuddapahb_supergroup_lithology #cuddapah_supergroup_structure #Geology_aspirant #owais_videos 👉 join us Telegram Instagram Do like and share, if you are new to the channel then please subscribe to our channel and also press the bell icon to get new geology related updates.
