Between the halibut and cod, we had a lot of action! We also spent a day tide pooling and beachcombing and came across some wild sea creatures. Our adventure ended with some amazing halibut fish and chips. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel!Katie & Chris0:00 - Intro0:15 - Day 1 Surf Fishing4:19 - Day 2 Surf Fishing9:53 - Processing13:24 - Tidepooling16:34 - Day 3 Surf Fishing20:11 - Cooking Fish and ChipsDeep Fried Halibut1 Pound of Fish - Halibut or Cod1.5 Cups of flour plus 1 cup off to the side2 tsp salt, separated2 tbsp cornstarchPaprika, garlic powder, pepper to taste1 light beerMix 1 cup of flour, 1 tsp salt and cornstarch in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix 1.5 cups coupe du monde de football flour, 1 tsp salt and spices to taste. Mix well.30 minutes before frying, slowly mix in beer by the tbsp until it looks like a pancake batter. Set aside. Heat oil to about 350-375F.Cut fish into chunks and pat dry. Dredge in flour mixture then in batter. Slowly add to oil. If oil covers fish, no need to flip. Pull out fish when internal temp is 135 F.*The FDA recommends all fish be cooked to an internal temp of 145 F. Because halibut are incredibly lean and lack fat, cooking it that high can cause it to become dry.
