During the whole assessment, the soldier will be wearing the Army Combat Uniform, A.C.U., including boots, a helmet, and "slick" body armor, which is a plate carrier without extra pouches, soldiers will start the assessment with a one mile run. Then complete 30 Dead-Stop, Hand-Release, Push-ups. Then a 100 meter sprint to the Sandbag lift station. Where they will lift 16 sandbags onto a platform, typically 66 inches high. Then a 50-Meter Water Can Carry, carrying two 40-pound water cans for 50 meters. This is followed by a 25-Meter High Crawl. Then a 25-Meter 3 to 5 Second Rush. Last, the assessment finishes with another one mile run. If the soldier is pursuing the Expert Infantryman Badge, E.I.B. The assessment must be completed within 27 minutes and 30 seconds. If the soldier is pursuing the Expert Soldier Badge, E.S.B. or the Expert Field Medical Badge, E.F.M.B., then the assessment must be completed within 30 minutes.
