The Philippine Embassy in Paris is advising Filipinos in Paris and the rest of France to exercise caution in light of the unprecedented heatwave sweeping across the country. Ambassador Eduardo Jose de Vega, Philippine Embassy in Paris, France, said that as a Filipino, he is no stranger to hot weather but noted that the heat in Paris is even more intense. De Vega noted Europe is not equipped for the intense heat. “Walang aircon mga building dito. Kaunti lang building na may AC,” he told DZMM. The Embassy warned exposure to high temperatures poses a significant risk to everyone and particularly to the most vulnerable: the elderly, young children, pregnant women, people with disabilities or chronic diseases or those taking certain medications and people in precarious situations.
