This Cop Killed an 11-Year-Old Girl. 38 Years Later, He Found a Way Out | James Duckett Full Story [IjynbFVPbC1]

On March 31, 2026, former police officer James Aren Duckett was scheduled to be executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison. He had been on death row for almost 38 years for the 1987 murder of Teresa McAbee in Mascotte, Florida. But 5 days before his execution, the Florida Supreme Court issued a rare stay after Duckett filed for DNA testing he had refused 22 years earlier. On May 11, 1987, Officer Duckett was the only cop on duty in Mascotte when Teresa McAbee walked to a nearby convenience store for a pencil. Witnesses saw Duckett place the girl in his patrol car and drive away. Her body was found the next morning in Knight Lake, less than a mile away. The jury took less than 90 minutes to convict Duckett. He was sentenced to death by electric chair. In the decades that followed, every appeal was denied. Investigators also linked Duckett to two other unsolved murders, including the 1987 disappearance and death of Jeanifer Weldon. In February 2026, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Duckett's death warrant. In this video, we cover the full story of what happened on the night Teresa McAbee disappeared, the evidence against James Duckett, the three women who testified about his behavior on duty, the connection to two other unsolved murders, the disappearance of his grandson Trenton Duckett, and why the Florida Supreme Court stopped his execution 5 days before the needle. #JamesDuckett #TeresaMcAbee #FloridaExecution 📺 Watch more Final Verdict videos here: ♦️ ♦️ 📌 Subscribe to Final Verdict for more Death Row stories: Written and Edited by Final Verdict ❗️ DISCLAIMER: The clips and pictures used in this video are a mix of paid stock, by attribution, royalty-free, public domain, and other copyright-free sources and are used in accordance with the YouTube Fair Use copyright guidelines and Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act.
