Our first flight since lockdown was from Fuerteventura to Sevilla and back again last weekend. I discuss our experience of the airport, the Ryanair flight and the domestic procedure between the islands and the mainland. Whilst I was away the UK Government introduced a mandatory 14 day self isolation period for UK citizens returning from Spain. There was an additional announcement on Monday that the UK is now mario venditti advising against all non-essential travel to Spain and the islands. From 27 July, the FCO advise against all non-essential travel to Spain, including the Balearic and Canary Islands. The FCO is not advising those already travelling in Spain to leave at this time.If you are returning from Spain you will be required to self-isolate on your return to the UK for a period of 14 days.For more information and the latest travel advice visit gov.uk - Package holidays should now be cancelled and you should be able to request a refund. - Flight only bookings are likely to still go ahead with Easyjet and Ryanair. Contact your airline to see if you can change your dates without penalty. - If you intend to travel against the current advice then you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance.
