They will start their new roles next week after the cast and crew were told about the change. This comes after Josh Griffith left the position in June. Both of these writers bring strong daytime experience. Jamey Giddens has a unique background. He first became known as a co-owner of Daytime Confidential, a popular soap news site. Later he created a drama series for OWN called *Ambitions*. He then joined the writing team at *Days of Our Lives* as a breakdown writer. While there he won Daytime Emmy and Writers Guild awards. He also worked on the *Beyond Salem* specials and most recently has been writing for *Beyond the Gates*, where he is currently nominated for another Emmy. Dan O’Connor has spent most of his career inside writers’ rooms. He started at *One Life to Live* and later moved to *General Hospital*. In 2019 he became co-head writer there and helped guide the show through several successful and award-winning years. He also has Daytime Emmy and Writers Guild honors on his résumé.
