Microsoft Research just released Flint, an open-source charting language designed to help AI agents generate reliable, production-ready data visualizations without writing hundreds of lines of fragile Vega-Lite code. In this video, I test Flint with Claude and the Flint MCP tools by turning a CSV of monthly signups into a heatmap, rendering the final PNG directly in chat, and then switching the same data into a grouped bar chart without changing its semantic types.
