Breaking: Filipina tennis pride Alex Eala could not sustain a blistering start against World No. 99 Alycia Parks after she succumbed to defeat in three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 2-6, in the first round of the Australian Open in Melbourne Park on Monday afternoon. Eala, playing in her first Australian Open main draw match, fell flat even after a 34-minute conquest of Parks in the first set. The 20-year-old found herself stuck in a 0-3 hole in the second set but managed to recover and tie the match at 3-all in the second set.
